The fusion you offer between postures & yogic philosophy is right on; it's what yoga ought to be, I think, and it follows from study. Not only do we become stronger, more flexible, more focused through our practice with you, but we LEARN as we go: the postures fuse with an approach to life and a heightened awareness. You also find a way each time we meet to "switch it up," to be attuned to the "edge" for our particular group on any given day...and eshtablish a true flow without being predictable. The rewards keep giving, throughout the day and beyond. As I mentioned, you're legit...and that is so important when it comes to true teaching. -Geoff K.
Your classes helped me get back into a yoga practice and to find a path through grief and injury, for that I am very grateful. You are a wonderful teacher. -Kathy S.
I started going to Jen's gentle yoga class at my gym because I have fibromyalgia and two replaced knees and I'm older than I look AND Pilates was making me hurt too much. I was hooked from the first class. Jen is the perfect gentle yoga teacher. I've learned so much about breathing and being present in the moment. The twisting and stretching that we do makes me feel much better. But I feel like I've gained strength from some of the other poses and it's helping me improve my balance. At the end of each class, I say I feel like a "wet noodle." And this is the ultimate compliment. Jen is very patient, intelligent, competent, funny, and she tells great stories. -Nancy T.
You showed me that a lady of many years can still feel that she is a graceful woman. -Mary Jo M.
I came back to yoga during a difficult recovery from foot surgery. When I started Gentle Yoga on Wednesday evenings, I could not stand on my foot at all. Jen made me feel very confident that there was lots I COULD do, and there was. I love the class, and over time, I have been able to increase the range of what I can do. I feel stronger and I have found I can do more of the standing poses in each class. Jen’s style is inspirational. Her belief that we know our bodies best and that we can trust our own wisdom is very encouraging. Her “gentle” class is meditative and you leave feeling restored physically and mentally. Her “hatha” class is well-attended and is rigorous enough for a range of practitioners. From the music she selects to the flow of the postures and her inspirational readings and thoughts, Jen creates a wonderful atmosphere. -Sarah K.
I will always think of you as the instructor who made me realize that as a fledgling yoga student I COULD do yoga. You always made me feel so welcome and were always so quick and willing to tailor a class to my body's specific needs. Thank you so much for introducing me to yoga and helping me truly enjoy it. -Jill P.
I have so enjoyed taking classes with you, and you have helped me to deepen my commitment to my practice and my own spiritual journey. Because your own light shines so bright it helps the rest of us illuminate our path as well. You are a blessing. -Susan S.
In the past five years, I’ve seen Jen Sayers talents as a yoga instructor take root and blossom. Her passion and commitment for yoga, love of what she does and genuine kindness towards others makes her a one-of-a-kind teacher. Her background in Kripalu and Thai Yoga Massage make her alignment tips and adjustments“just right” and her radiance and sense of humor make every class a joy to take. My personal practice has grown leaps and bounds thanks to Jen and I consider her one of my favorite yoga instructors. -Liz Y.
